Workshop for landowners affected by recent fires
Free workshop intended for forest landowners
OLYMPIA – The Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR), WSU Extension, and other partners are hosting a free workshop for all forest landowners in the affected areas of Taylor Bridge and Table Mountain wildfires. Without active management after a wildfire, it could take decades to reestablish desired vegetation, if at all.
Who: Forest landowners affected by wildfires
What: A free workshop to learn how to restore forestland after wildfire
When: October 13, 2012, from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Where: Unionville Ranch
1750 Emerick Road
Cle Elum, WA
Why: This workshop will help forest landowners assess the wildfire impacts to forest and range property and provide ideas and assistance opportunities for restoring forest and rangeland resources. Also, there will be information about reducing wildfire risk on forest property.
An afternoon discussion will include a short walk where participants will learn how to assess fire severity and vegetation impacts. Participants should bring a lunch, appropriate clothing, and comfortable walking shoes. Refreshments will be provided.
For more information about the topics that will be included, view the 'After the Burn Workshop' brochure.
