Hispanic Heritage Month Presents: Opportunities in Science with Erim Gomez
Interested in science? How about studying it at the Ph.D. level? For anyone who may be considering advanced careers in science, current Ph.D. student Erim Gomez wants to help. His presentation, "Opportunities in Science and the Importance of Diversifying the Professorate" Thursday, Oct. 25 at 3 p.m. in Black Hall, room 152, will show what kinds of options are available to future-scientists and the importance of infusing the field with different cultures and ideas. This event is free and open to the public.
Gomez brings his own experience to the fore in this presentation. As a McNair Scholar and Bullitt Environmental Fellow, Gomez has succeeded in breaking into the sciences, studying for his Ph.D. in biology at Washington State University. For those either already pursuing a career in science or merely curious, come get the information and encouragement from someone who's already there.
