Outdoor Speaker Series: Jon Stimberis, 'Avalanche Awareness Night'

Avalanche forecaster John Stimberis is set to kick off the Outdoor Pursuits and Rentals (OPR) Outdoor Speaker Series Thursday, Feb. 7 at 7:30 in Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC) 137 A&B. Admission is free and open to the public.

Stimberis, a CWU alumni, currently works as an avalanche forecaster for the Washington State Department of Transportation, Summit at Snoqualmie and Alpental. Come listen as he shares avalanche awareness tips and discusses safety methods currently being implemented by mountains and ski resorts.
