'Good Hair and Other Dubious Distinctions' Screening
The Center for Diversity and Social Justice (CDSJ) is hosting a screening of the documentary "Good Hair and Other Dubious Distinctions" on Monday, Feb. 25 at 3:30 p.m. in Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC) 137 A&B. Admission is free and open to the public.
"Good Hair and Other Dubious Distinctions" examines the advantage people with certain physical features have over others. This film focuses on why traits like wavy hair, lighter skin and a slender nose is still considered more attractive in the black community, despite several movements seeking to liberate black self-esteem.
Following the film, CDSJ staff and students will conducting a discussion panel where they will take a closer look at the issues presented in "Good Hair and Other Dubious Distinctions."
