Free Golf Workshop at KVH Physical Therapy on April 18
KVH Physical Therapy will host a free golf workshop on Thursday, April 18. At the workshop, Titleist Performance Institute instructor Chris Vogt will work with golfers of all levels of experience to unlock their golf potential.
In his role an instructor with the Titleist Performance Institute, Vogt regularly takes players through a complete range of tests normally reserved for the world's best players. He assesses the "total picture" of a player's body, swing and equipment.
During the workshop, Vogt will show attendees how to improve their skills and play safely through an awareness of posture, swing and overall technique.
"Golf is a wonderful way to exercise and enjoy the outdoors," says Ken Kladnik, Director of KVH Physical Therapy. "However, like any form of exercise, there is a right way and a wrong way to perform the movements. The right way brings great enjoyment of the game. The wrong way can create pain and injury."
While golf has long been a favorite for outdoors enthusiasts and competitive types, it also has health benefits. A recent study in the British Medical Journal suggests that a round of golf can provide benefits comparable to a 100-mile bike ride. The low-level intensity of walking, hauling clubs, and swinging provide a steady form of exercise which many find more accessible and appealing.
"Golf has become more than a form of entertainment," says Kladnik. "For more and more people, it's a fun way to exercise."
This free session will be held on April 18 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at KVH Physical Therapy, located at 301 E. Mountain View in Ellensburg. Door prizes, including free rounds of golf donated by local golf courses, will be offered. For more information, call (509) 962-7414.
