Covering Fire: Journalists and the Taylor Bridge Fire/Winter Reception at the CWU Museum of Culture and Environment

The CWU Museum of Culture and Environment (MCE) invites everyone to come and experience the final stage of the "Where There's Smoke… Living with Fire" exhibit and the opening of the new exhibit "Wolves in Washington State." Everyone is invited to attend this free event and enjoy free refreshments Thursday, Jan. 30 at 5 p.m. at the MCE located in Dean Hall 104.

Journalists and reporters who covered the 2012 Taylor Bridge fire will be on hand for the closing of the "Where There's Smoke… Living with Fire" exhibit. They will host a roundtable discussion about their work and will be available to answer any questions attendees may have about the effects of the fire, which burned over 23,000 acres between Cle Elum and Ellensburg.

After learning about the fire and its effects, attendees can explore the new "Wolves in Washington State" exhibit. The exhibit examines everything from the wolf's importance to Pacific Northwest Native American culture to Washington's new wolf management plan. The exhibit features a touchable wolf skull cast, touchable comparative species tracks, and a take-away brochure of frequently asked questions. "Wolves in Washington State" will be on view at MCE from Jan. 30 until April 13.
