Gallery One welcomes Timea Tihanyl for community workshop and demonstrations.

Gallery One welcomes visiting artist Timea Tihanyi to Ellensburg for a
community workshop and free demonstrations. Tihanyi's residency is funded
in part by Ellensburg Arts Commission and The Robert B. McMillen Foundation.
Tihanyi was one of twenty artists to be selected by jurors Stephen Robison,
faculty at Central Washington University and Julia Galloway from University
of Montana, Missoula.

Timea will be making artwork in Gallery One's public ceramic facility for
the following days: June 27- July 2 and July 27- July 30. Anyone is
welcome to drop in and see what she is making.

On Tuesday, July 1, 5:30 pm, there will be a free artist demonstration and
lecture about Timea's work and process. On Sunday, July 27, 1pm- 4pm
community members are invited to participate in a free workshop. Call
Gallery One to register. There is a limit of 12. And on Wednesday, July 30,
4pm-6pm, a public reception of works made will be available.

Executive Director, Monica Miller says of Timea's application, "while there were many qualified
applicants, ultimately, I chose Timea because of her work in interpreting
community. With the upcoming 125th anniversary of our building coming up, I
wanted an artist who would help celebrate the stories that have happened in
the Stewart building and the many others in downtown Ellensburg."

During this process, community members are invited to bring images and
stories about them or their families to share with Timea during her
residency. For more information about Timea:
