Alpental employee John Stimberis will give a talk about how he turned being a ski bum into a full time career.

Stimberis is an avalanche control worker, which means he gets to set off bombs to control slides and spends a lot of time forecasting weather. He'll share photos of his job and stories of real life on a ski hill.

This talk is part of the One Book One County program, which encouraged all adult residents of Kittitas County to read the novel How I Came to Sparkle Again this winter. The book is set at a ski area and town in Colorado and was written by Kaya McLaren, who lives and teaches in Kittitas County.
